Press Scretary Robert Gibbs says “the President is not considering such a tax”. Vice President Biden says “we are not talking about it”. Tax Cheat Tim Geitner says we have to increase revenues. Then the President comes out on Wednesday with ”I want to get a picture of what all of our options are”. This sure sounds like it is still an option for this admistration.
If this tax was implemented it would cripple american families and slow or stop the economic recovery. The calls to “Impeach Obama” will sure begin from the left and the right, once all americans are subject to this tax. A clear departure from the President’s promise of not raising taxes on Americans making less than $200,000. How would this tax affect you and your family ?
Anyone tuning in American Idol last night was graced with a guest appearence from our nations so called president and first lady. Although advocating what appears to be a very good cause. In a complete and utter display of disrespect for the office he holds, acted as if he was as uneducated as the majority of people that voted for him. Lowering himself to the level of Randy Jackson and his slang terms referring to all the finalists as ” His Dogs “.
Is this really the type of behavior we as Americans expect from our highest elected official ? It is no wonder why people are buying anti obama bumper stickers like they are going out of style. Does anyone else feel that our president is headed in the wrong direction ? I would love to get some feedback.
With the passing of healthcare legislation, Obama and the Democratic Congress have taken a divisive leap towards socialism, and this only appears to be the tip of the iceberg. Also on the slate for the progressive movement are efforts to repeal ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,’ end NASA’s manned space flights, decrease our nuclear arsenal and regulate the financial derivatives market. While conservatives may be able to marginalize the Democrats’ majority in Congress during the midterm elections, Obama will likely be here until at least 2013.
Impeachment is obviously preferential, but with the political landscape in D.C., it is highly unlikely. The best bet is to catalyze the conservative movement around a strong, qualified candidate to ensure that Obama is gone 1-20-2013. Many people think that Sarah Palin is the frontrunner for the nomination, but Ron Paul is also in the running and would likely appeal to a larger demographic. Although Palin has a devout group of followers, she is unlikely to pull votes from the middle, which is something that Paul may be able to accomplish.
Now that Obamacare has been law for over a week, the debate is already starting to lose some of its steam as pundits turn their attention to new legislation and political debates such as nuclear disarmament and financial reform. In the wake of the passage, however, little has been said about the actual content of the legislation, as the majority of the coverage has focused on attempts and strategies to repeal the law and the isolated incidents of extremists threatening politicians and performing violent acts.
There is a definite dichotomy of opinion on how the American people will respond to the legislation. Democrats are hoping that voters will forget about the severe rancor that enveloped the proceedings by the midterm elections in November and that the perceived victory will provide momentum for more legislation. On the conservative side, Republicans and Tea Partiers are saying that the midterm elections will be a referendum on healthcare, and party leaders are hoping to stoke the public outcry over the new law until November.
